Hi Everyone! ..... This site is to help build an Imperfectly Natural Community, where I hope to share with you everything I can on the best natural and holistic ideas for us, our kids, our partners, and for our way of life and our environment... but in a realistic way.
You don't have to become a tree hugging eco-warrior, and I won't preach to you, but with your help we can bring a more natural, chemical free, and more eco-friendly way of living right into the mainstream... that's right, change the world!
Thanks to everyone for your support in making my first book Imperfectly Natural Woman such a big success. The latest one in the series Imperfectly Natural Home is in the shops now. Please join the Forum, sign up for my Tip Sheet (it's free!), check me out on BBC Radio 2 (Steve Wright in the Afternoon) on Tuesdays. Wednesdays and Thursdays, check my Diary too, and if I'm in your area please come and meet me.

About our team......
Find out about Janey and the gang The Imperfectly natural team is small but we hope perfectly formed. Here's an introduction to the important people.
Janey – well there's lots of stuff about Janey here - but for the purposes of her role on the website – well she's Queen of it all really, she barks orders at everyone (in the nicest possible way) and is genuinely incredulous if the job isn’t done within 35 seconds, such is her impatience (she would say enthusiasm !)
Janey takes all her recommendations seriously and personally tests and reviews every new product that is brought to her attention. She is strict about not allowing anyone to advertise on the site unless they are ethical, fair-trade and natural and she can give their company a glowing endorsement. It's important to stress that whilst the Directory listings are paid for by Advertisers, Janey takes no commission from any products sold or services rendered. She doesn’t get involved in ‘clickbacks’ or affiliate schemes either, preferring to remain entirely neutral in her promotion of recommended products. The way it usually works is that Janey will make contact with a company or they will see that she has promoted them in a book / magazine article and then there’s a discussion about whether they should also be featured on the website. Charities which Janey is linked to can have a free directory listing.
All companies that are listed in the directory also have opportunities to do special offers and competitions on Janey’s tips - the monthly e-zine which goes out to thousands of very targeted subscribers - or to offer a competition prize on the front page of the site. The money generated from the advertisements is largely ploughed back into the website paying for the staff, technical assistance and supporting launch parties etc.
A percentage of the revenue is channelled towards the main charity that Imperfectly Natural supports which is yestolife, who are actively involved in funding treatment and integrated holistic care for people with cancer. Read more here
Ultimately Janey wants the site to be an invaluable resource for everyone hoping to live a more holistic life, whatever stage they’re at.
If you would like to contribute to the website by writing a feature or article about ‘what really works’, email Janey in the first instance with your idea / article.
Janey's imperfectly natural guilty secret… A weakness for cappuccinos and croissants…
Fiona
Fiona is Janey's sort of right hand gal, personal assistant cum great mate, albeit only part time. She is one of the few people who can match Janey in the energy stakes and can also do at least 5 things at once. She also makes a mean vegetable soup whilst cleaning the kitchen floor. (No jokes about brooms please – its enjo mops round here.)
Fiona is involved in all the editorial aspects of the site, but she flatly refuses to get technical. She is the one who calls up companies and tells them the great news that they’re already being promoted by Janey in books or articles or on the radio and it’s a really good idea to give us a bit of cash and also be featured on the website. She is fantastic at convincing companies to give wonderful gifts for us to offer as prizes and an absolute whiz at compiling goody bags for giveaways and book launch parties.
Fiona won’t mind us saying I’m sure, that she is married to Ken who has prostate cancer. He tells everyone that she has ‘kept him above ground for 12 years’, that’s not least because of her absolute commitment to holistic living, organic food and drink and a healthy regard for the latest alternative treatments and natural supplements.
Fiona's Imperfectly Natural guilty secret…We're still waiting for her to tell us!!
Gabrielle
Gaby is the techy one and also the financial guru. It's an interesting combination. She claims she isn’t particularly high tech, but somehow she manages to faff around with html code and it comes out good. She is also part time but seems to be working some very odd hours at home such is her passion for the Imperfectly natural website. Gaby can also be found at all sorts of unsocial hours on the forum and she is usually the person who comes up with an answer for the most bizarre of questions. Need a website link for anything holistic? Ask Gaby.
If you are an advertiser and haven’t coughed up the agreed cash you’ll probably get an email from Gaby and your name will be entered into the ‘naughty list’ - well she tells us it’s a spreadsheet of debtors but that’s the same thing isn’t it?
Gaby’s imperfectly natural guilty secret…"Hand cleansing gel when I'm out and can't wash my hands, especially if I've been on public transport."
Dottyspots Nikki and Sarah Soapnutter
Nikki and Sarah are the Imperfectly natural mod fairies without whom the Imperfectly natural forum could not function. They are unpaid, but not unsung, heroes and they are much appreciated for their devotion to moderating a busy thriving forum. To show your appreciation thank them lots and patronise their fab companies – Ninny Noodle Noo for gorgeous ethical toys, clothes and books and Ethics Trading for fairly traded goods including the ubiquitous soapnuts.

Sarah
Sarah's Imperfectly natural guilty secret…"Imperfectly Natural Guilty Secret? I rely on my car way too much and keep meaning to catch the bus into town, after all there is a bus stop pretty much outside the house, so no excuse really. But I still take the car."

Nikki
Nikki's Imperfectly natural guilty secret…"My imperfectly natural guilty secret is toilet cleaner. I hate cleaning the toilet and tend to resort to regular toilet cleaners to get the job done (mostly because I can leave them and they don't require lots of scrubbing) - I feel really guilty about it though when for the rest of the house I use essential oils and soap to clean (I also use a soapnut solution too)."
And a final mention must go to… Sonny, Buddy, Rocky and Lulu…
Not strictly involved in the day to day running of the website but a fairly major factor in allowing anyone else to run it. Without their constant, if delightful, interruptions the Imperfectly natural office might be much more efficient but then it may lose some of its chaotic charm. Lets face it there's something homely about a marmite crust left on the office chair…
Sonny and Buddy have also proved to be excellent at stuffing goody bags, particularly when one of the items to be distributed is organic chocolate and on that note they wholeheartedly apologise to at least 12 people who didn’t get any in their bags at the last book launch party.
