The Summit Vanuatu, based in the South Pacific and exporting all over the world, produces sandalwood, essential oils and skincare products.
Sandalwood is one of the most sort-after commodities in the world today, having been used for centuries – first by the inhabitants of the idyllic Pacific island of Vanuatu and then traded all over the world as a luxury commodity. As the flagship product for The Summit, sandalwood can be used for therapeutic, spiritual and religious purposes.
I’m a huge advocate of sandalwood for many reasons, not least that it truly is a product with hundreds of uses – sandalwood essential oil can help to prevent cellular damage and has antibacterial and antioxidant properties; it also has uses in aromatherapy as a calming aid. The by-product of the essential oil production process is sandalwood water, which possesses all the properties of the oil and is used in The Summit’s products as a replacement for distilled water. The powdered heartwood has uses in treating skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis and eczema, makes for a great facial mask and even works on insect bites!
Sandalwood is not the only product in The Summit’s range. They also produce tamanu, nangai and coconut oils, as well as cacao butter and green coffee beans, all of which are brilliant for your skin. The Summit support the local population of entrepreneurs and growers, using sustainable plantations to organically grow their sandalwood.
