*(Don’t worry it’s not a review for a v. old movie)

I’ve always found it fascinating that our physical symptoms are so linked to emotions, our body is the server of the mind’ I’ve heard it said, and almost every physical illness has some emotional connection.

We all know the feeling of sickness in our stomach if we hear terrible news; it’s an emotional state, a thought, a feeling… but with a very real physical symptom.  Being a Hay House author I am of course very much aware of Louise Hay’s approach.  Her New York Times Best Seller You Can Heal Your Life has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. Remember the powerful words “If we are willing to do the mental work, almost anything can be healed.”

Often it’s our limiting beliefs (sometimes outdated ideas from childhood) that are the cause of illness, but it can be tricky to work out for yourself, and not always obvious.

In the past I’ve had symptoms, which looking back, I can clearly see what was going on. In one instance, I had earache, (very unusual for me) and realised there was a certain behaviour I needed to change, it had been nagging at me for a while but I simply hadn’t been ‘willing to listen’. Another time I lost my voice, completely – without any trace of a sore throat or pain, it took me a while to realise there was something I needed to ‘voice’ to someone important in my life, I had been too afraid to say it.

It can even more difficult if the symptom feels like an injury, I remember hearing leading Hay House author Robert Holden saying that when he was writing one of his books on Self Love he suddenly developed muscular pain, he was in agony and couldn’t explain it. He checked it out in Louise’s book and found that pain in that area signified …’Being hypocritical’ He shut the book and said jokingly…’Even Louise isn’t right all the time’ …The truth can hurt!

A short while ago I woke up unable to walk without pain, my left foot seemed to have suddenly developed a sharp pain whenever I put pressure on it,  I couldn’t remember injuring it and there was no swelling or bruising.  Over the next few days it seemed to get worse and the pain moved more into the leg, eventually I traced it to the hip area and after much swearing and moaning finally remembered to look out Louise’s directory.

Hip: Carries the body in perfect balance. Major thrust in moving forward. Fear of going forward in major decisions. Nothing to move forward to.

How fascinating! I have been very reticent recently in stepping into a new chapter in my work, (despite spending my life encouraging others to step into the spotlight! – oh the irony) and have definitely not been able to make decisions.  So what to do?

Well, I was intuitively drawn to having a healing session with Raspreet Sagoo from Divine Sacred Soul. She is a medical intuitive, holistic health practitioner and intuitive soul coach. The fact that Raspreet has over 15 years’ experience in pharmaceutical medicine gives her a comprehensive understanding of the physical anatomy and conventional medicine.  She also has a history in intuitive energy healing, and the natural gift of mediumship and connecting to the Angels and Ascended Masters as a child.  Her inner wisdom, background in the healthcare profession and entrepreneurial skills have given her a wealth of knowledge and experience and made me very ‘safe in her hands’ – though in this case the session was done via a phone call.

Raspreet uses ThetaHealing®, Emotional Release Therapy and Past Life Regression with Crystal Viewing, depending on the clients’ needs and preferences. The Theta Healing technique, is a world-renowned energy healing method, created by Vianna Stibal in 1995 during her own personal journey back to health and after she healed from a tumour in her leg.

It uses the Theta brainwave state to enable the practitioner to connect to the Energy of ‘All That Is’. From there, the practitioner intuitively scans the body to pick up on problems within the body and any limiting beliefs that hold you back in life. The ThetaHealing® technique is best described as an attainable miracle for your life.

I must admit it was incredibly relaxing, but very insightful too, I found I was able to quickly reframe negative belief systems into positive ones and felt that a shift came quite fast for me. Without going into too many personal details I had a real ‘aha’ moment during the session, Raspreet intuitively picked up on something not really related to the pain in my foot, but nevertheless incredibly important for me to address in my life, so with the negative limiting beliefs around that issue released and restored to ones of positivity, I felt so much better, literally transformed.

So was it like a biblical miracle healing? Well – no; the foot / leg pain didn’t heal instantly, but it no longer seemed to matter quite so much, what felt more important was that I was able to see the issues and the resolution much more clearly.

What’s the moral of the story? Well apart from a big ‘big-up’ and thank you to Raspreet, I want to remind you to ‘listen to your body’.  Usually it rocks along supporting us quite well, (and we give it little thanks!). Debilitating symptoms though can pop up to show us something when it really needs to get our attention! Honour it and ‘treat’ yourself to some healing with Raspreet, you don’t even have the excuse of living too far away, with the Theta Healing at least –  it can be done by phone.
