It’s the turn of Dr Elmar Jung, Holistic Dentist.
Tell us about yourself and what you do…
I’m a father of three, keen skier and advocate for holistic dentistry ever since leaving Dental school more than 30 years ago.
How did you get started?
I started like any other dentist at University, drilling filling, placing mercury-amalgam fillings, composite fillings, doing root canals, crowns and bridges as well as tooth extractions and all the other procedures dentists-to-be are trained in.
What were you doing in a previous life?
My parents took us kids skiing from a very early age, so I’m pretty good at it. I even became a Skiing instructor during University which was great as I got the opportunity to earn some pocket money and go skiing for free in fantastic locations such as Engelberg or St Moritz.
During University I also worked for Lufthansa, catering airplanes and doing the washing up, a pretty tough job. The highlights came when we were booked by companies or individuals to cater their parties.
Why holistic?
Early on, I realized that treating symptoms is the most common approach that dentists and doctors take to tackle illnesses. Convinced that there must be another way, I embarked on a remarkable journey to explore complementary diagnostic and treatment methods which offer a whole person approach.
What’s your USP? What sets you apart from your competitors?
My mission is to empower patients to take full responsibility for their own health and well-being. I do this by supporting their transition from toxic dentistry to biological dentistry.

What’s the next big project coming up for you?
I have just released my latest book, so I will rest for a short while and see what opportunities arise from there.
What’s your big dream?
My big dream is to establish or join a truly holistic clinic where medical, dental and supporting treatments are offered in a kind of medical wellness environment, in a one-stop experience.
