Oddbird produces quality wine in France and Italy using traditional methods, a natural wine-making process with minimal processing. It takes time, passion and relentless attention to every detail. From the choice of grapes and vineyard to fermentation, alcohol removal and bottling. Today, Oddbird is the largest producer of wine liberated from alcohol in Scandinavia.
Founded in 2013 by Moa Gürbüzer, a former family therapist and social worker with over two decades of experience. She worked mainly with alcohol related family issues and saw, firsthand, the detrimental effects of alcohol on society in Sweden. Moa founded Oddbird with a vision to question and change the alcohol norms of society by creating world class wines and liberating them from alcohol.
The finest grapes from the best vineyards are selected at the right level of maturity and then fermented in the same way as sparkling wine to ensure Oddbird’s unique taste and high quality. Oddbird is aged according to tradition in barrels or steel tanks for up to a year, so that the wine can reach its full potential and desired characteristics. The wine is then completely liberated from alcohol using a unique, patented vacuum distillation method that preserves the wine’s flavours and aromas – just as nature intended. No e-numbers, artificial colours or aromas are added to Oddbird and it contains on average one tenth of the calories in wine with alcohol.
ODDBIRD SPUMANTE uses grapes from the Italian province of Treviso located in Veneto, commonly known as the Prosecco region, made with traditional methods and 100% Glera grapes exclusively from DOC and DOCG vineyards. The wine is matured for up to 12 months and then gently liberated from alcohol to preserve its natural character.
ODDBIRD ROSÉ SPARKLING WINE is silky and a well-balanced alcohol-free blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes with gentle hints of summer berries, citrus and Granny Smith apples. Oddbird Rosé is rather dry and all-natural in colour.
ODDBIRD BLANC DE BLANCS Sparkling Chardonnay wine, is crisp, intricate and dry, with fresh tones of Granny Smith apples, honey and lime. A youthful 100% Chardonnay wine with high complexity and no alcohol.
