There is so much packaging around these days particularly in the beauty product industry and it’s important for companies to take the initiative and help reduce the impact on the environment.

Pure Lakes provide handmade, affordable, luxury products that care for skin and the planet.

Pure lakes founders Sandra and Iain believe it’s the only sensible option, using natural oils, butters and fragrances to create products that people enjoy is their intention and they achieve this with their wonderful collection.

Pure Lakes recognise their responsibility to manage their environmental impact as a business and so they re-use or recycle all the packaging they receive from their suppliers. Sandra and Iain are incredibly passionate about running the business responsibly – 95% of waste is reused or recycled and they have sourced 100% recycled plastic bottles. This has resulted in several environmental awards including an Environmental Excellence award and ‘Green Hero’ award from the Environment Agency.

They save money by keeping the packaging simple and buying larger quantities of raw materials to get better prices so that they can offer their high quality, handmade natural toiletries at affordable prices.

You will find them in the bedrooms of lots of lovely hotels.  On their website you’ll find cleansers, toners, exfoliators, moisturisers, facial oil, baby care, hair care and bath and body care.

Pure lakes create their own formulas using pure plant oils and butters or ingredients derived from raw materials with the minimum of processing. Ingredients are mostly organic and derived from traceable, sustainable sources.

You can buy the full range on their website and they welcome visitors to their workshop on Staveley Mill Yard in Cumbria where they make all the creams, lotions and soaps by hand in small batches.
