Once again, in this year’s 2023 Platinum Awards I have sought out the best of the best in natural, organic and eco products, alternative treatments and therapies, and wellbeing charities and books. Books is a great category, with some fascinating, and practical entries and all entries are read by myself and my panel of esteemed Judges, including TV presenter and ‘voice coach to the stars’ Carrie Grant, entrepreneur and beloved Organic living guru Jo Wood, and actress Glynis Barber. Here’s a taster of just a few of this year’s book entries:
Joy Beyond Grief by Janice Thompson
Janice has been a complimentary therapist for over 15 years specializing in grief and loss, training courses in EFT and Matrix Reimprinting. She works with both practitioners to best equip them to help those experiencing loss and with those who have lost a loved one to give them support and tools to help themselves.
When Janice’s husband died suddenly in 2002, devastation came, and the traumatic event led to a journey of self-discovery. For the past several years Janice has been writing her book, from her research, her work with hundreds of clients affected by grief, and her own experience of loss.
This book is a hand to hold through your own grieving experience. Whether your loss is because of bereavement, loss of job, relationship, home, finances, whatever your loss, this book can help you move from a place of pain to a place of peace.
Manage your pain: Transform your life by Nikki Robinson
Nikki qualified as a Physiotherapist from the Queen Elizabeth School of Physiotherapy, Birmingham, in 1993. She founded her award-winning Myofascial Release practice, Holisticare, in 2006 and has specialized in Myofascial Release treatment in the UK, and in the US with John Barnes, the physical therapist who developed the treatment.
This book is the ultimate guide to working with your body. Discover why you have pain and tension; learn how they affect your body and master techniques for treating and preventing pain and injury in the future. A practical guide to your body, with clear explanations of how you can treat yourself to help your symptoms, it introduces fascia, how your body reacts to injury, and addresses symptoms such as pain, tension and inflammation. The format allows you to read beginning to end or go straight to the section that addresses a particular condition. There are cross-references throughout to direct you to additional information.
