“My aim, quite simply is to make pure natural soap accessible to everyone…”

Passionate about reducing the amount of chemicals people unwittingly rub into their skin and wanting to do for the cosmetics industry what Jamie Oliver has done for food, Emma Heathcote-James created the purist organic soap made with the finest natural ingredients she believes possible and her aim, from the outset has been to make it accessible to everyone.

Baffled why you couldn’t pick up a bar or bottle of pure organic soap amid the weekly supermarket shop Emma created Little Soap Company which started as a passionate and earnest one-woman band hand-making soap on the Aga and selling in sub-zero temperatures at farmers markets.

The business has grown exponentially producing the first organic soap bar to hit supermarket shelves. Launching on a small scale in Waitrose in 2010, then regionally in Tesco’s in 2012, nationally in Waitrose 2013 (best beauty launch and fastest selling bar soap) followed by Booths in the North. The range has then rolled out into other major national supermarkets including Sainsbury’s and Boots the Chemist and amazingly has still retained its routes hand making its original artisan bars in their workshop.

Nestling in the foothills of the North Cotswolds, the Little Soap Company is eco-savvy choosing suppliers who have the same business ethics and are able to trace the origin of each ingredient to its source.

They’re deeply passionate about their environmental imprint and ensure all their packaging is recycled, recyclable, and biodegradable and made in the UK. Also passionate about rural enterprise Little Soap Company source as much as they can locally in our bid to help other small rural businesses and cut down on transport.

Bodywash - Peppermint & PoppyseedIf you’ve ever fancied the idea of creating your own soaps, Little Soap Company offer their incredibly popular Little Soap School courses which run from their North Cotswold workshop in beautiful picturesque Broadway.

People travel from all over the country and indeed the world to participate in these workshops and learn how to make organic soap, creams, balms, natural perfumes and green cleaning products. Emma’s incredibly passionate about her workshops and accommodates both private one to one soap-making classes and group day courses for anyone interested in learning Emma’s soap making secrets and having a very educational and fun day out!

They have a wonderful range of holistically handcrafted artisan soaps which have won a string of beauty industry awards, also a Traditional Everyday range, a Liquid Bath and Body range and their flagship Little Beast Pet range, all made using the purest, finest ingredients. They’ve just launched a new organic liquid hand wash, foaming body wash and bubble bath into Waitrose and coming out for this festive season are additions to their Little Beast Pet Range of an Organic Liquid Pet Shampoo and an Organic Spritz for in-between washes.
