I recently attended a wonderful Weleda Wellness retreat, it was much needed and welcomed. Sometimes you don’t want the stress of airports and different time zones, it felt wonderfully easy to get on a train, and then have a taxi deliver me to the beautiful Peak district where I received a very warm welcome at Lapwing Barns, and a nourishing welcome drink ( and gorgeous home-made cake) with the Weleda team and fellow guests.

The first evening we enjoyed a delicious vegetarian dinner together, full of seasonal locally sourced ingredients, created by the onsite chef and served in the beautifully relaxed main dining room. After dinner, a relaxed session where the plans for the weekend were shared and there was time for questions. To complete the evening, I loved the ‘Sleep Well’ meditation and wonderfully soothing foot spa treatment, using of course Weleda Bath Milks.

Saturday began with a gentle Yoga session and a delicious nutritious breakfast. The atmosphere was so calm and relaxed, and the Weleda team were always on hand for any questions or connections. After breakfast was our first workshop with Evelyn Liddell who is a Weleda pharmacist and homeopath. The workshop was fascinating, all about personality types and how we can best create balance and a sense of wellbeing that works for each of us.  Evelyn is so knowledgeable!

Lunch was a rainbow of seasonal soups and wholesome salads and then a further afternoon session on connecting to nature and how it can uplift us in so many positive ways.  Also across the weekend I enjoyed a brand-new Weleda Signature Treatment, developed by Weleda’s skincare expert, Elizabeth King. My therapist was wonderful, it was 90 minutes of pure, transporting holistic bliss! It was out of this world! If you don’t fancy a treatment, then you can relax out on the terrace with a book or in your room with a cuppa.

Evening was another delicious vegetarian dinner and lots of chat around the wood-burning stove. The food is incredible (I could happily become vegan permanently if I could bring those chef’s home!) Lapwing Barns is such a lovely home from home space, it feels very nurturing. Another optional meditation session before bed and a very restful night of slumber!

Sunday morning and by this point I was super relaxed, I loved the gorgeous yoga studio, we sat in ‘circle’ and felt very ‘held’. Between another wonderful breakfast and lunch was the Awakening Skincare Workshop with Weleda skincare expert and aesthetician Elizabeth King, filled with so many practical self-care tips.

A glorious countryside walk was the perfect opportunity to explore and connect with nature and the final gem was an informal chat with Emine Rushton about the great new Weleda book: Natural Wellness Every Day. All the Weleda team are knowledgeable and inspirational …

Our final evening dinner around the firepit with cosy blankets…what a relaxed, and truly inspirational retreat! I hear their January retreat is fully booked, but Spring and Autumn still have availability:
