My Verdict… An innovative, useful resource …helping people to sample products that are good for their health and well-being, natural organic, and nourishing and nurturing.
The founder of Tropic of Cancer Sue was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in January 2014. she trawled the internet for practical tips and any products that could support her through her treatment journey and found the volume of information on forums overwhelming and terrifying.
Before her surgery a group of girlfriends came over to see her and they came armed with a whole variety of goodies to support Sue through her treatment, everything from front opening PJ’s (you can’t lift your arms after breast surgery) to mouth wash and cushions and babywipes (if I could bath/shower). It was far more useful than flowers and chocolates! As Sue got further through her journey, she started researching chemicals in face and bodycare products and found that many were thought to be potentially carcinogenic. She decided to expand her girlfriends idea into specific treatment gift packs to cushion the effect of breast cancer treatment.
So the Tropic of cancer ‘comfort’ packs were born – all containing natural, chemical free (and where possible organic) products that she sources from UK independent businesses at affordable prices (always under £60)
