Its time we all took some responsibility for our health right? I am constantly promoting living holistically, ditching the booze and eating well, but I thought I’d give a guest writer an opportunity to share their five ways…

Do you know all the ways to stay healthy and have an active lifestyle?, As technology continues to encapsulate our lives, all of us are obsessed with being served with everything instantly. You might be careful to take the stairs, skip the desserts when you eat out, but when you visit the doctor, you may still have something that is taking a big toll on your health. Regardless of where you go, you will eventually find people talking about wanting to have a healthy life but not really knowing what to do. In this feature, we will walk you through a few ways to have a healthier life:

Diet

Do you have breakfast early in the morning? Its an important meal, and so is the timing of other meals. Its always worth jotting down a diet chart for yourself. Today, one of the leading problems that affects the health of young people is when they skip breakfasts and have heavy meals for dinner. Your breakfast is the first meal of the day, so make the most of it. Eat a protein rich diet and avoid processed foods as much as you can. Drink plenty of water everyday to stay hydrated and it is also good for your skin. Limit the caffeine intake and avoid alcohol as much as you can.

Sleep

How many hours do you sleep everyday? Its well documented that 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night is important to keep your sleep-wake cycle to function properly. Even if you aren’t especially active throughout the day, you need plenty of sleep to give your body rest. People who don’t sleep adequately have a higher chance of getting stuck with a heart stroke or even a sudden cardiac arrest. Secondly, plenty of sleep is good for your skin as you won’t get exposed to dark circles.  Try to quit smoking before sleep because it affects your sleeping circle. Instead you can rely on vaping because it is 95% safer and a better option.

Exercise

Try to workout in the gym or at least a walk in the park for around 30 minutes every morning. Also try to get 20 to 30 minute sessions of strength training, while placing focus on the main muscles of the body.  If you’ve been working out for a long time, don’t take a long break in between. Regular workout has incredible health benefits and is even more beneficial for your mental health. When you exercise or workout in the gym, it releases the ‘happy’ hormones and makes you feel happier about yourself.

Socialization

Meet new people and try to be around positive people all the time.  Negative people  can take a big toll on your mental and physical health. Socialization whether online or in person is essential, it decreases the chances of heart diseases, protects you from depression and reduces the chances of you getting sick with dementia.

Always Check with a Doctor Every Few Months

How often do you get screened for various diseases?  Even if you’re healthy, you must not overlook visiting the doctor for check-ups. A yearly check up is also good – we service our cars annually!. Knowing you’re well will give you  peace of mind.

Its out of the five…but Be Happy!
