I’ve written before about the incredible healing properties of turmeric, it really is a wonderful herb, safe, natural, and works wonders for so many ailments having such a healing effect on our bodies.
It’s been found to ease arthritis pain, aid the liver in detoxifying, boost blood circulation, heal and soothe the digestive tract, reduce the pain and fever associated with illness, and even help prevent ulcers due to the antiseptic properties.
It’s a true powerhouse and up to now has mostly been used as a flavouring in savoury dishes to be incorporated into a healthy diet, it’s rather a strong flavour and has a distinctive taste and so doesn’t always work with every type of dish.
Well now I’m thrilled to have discovered Turmerlicious – a delicious, soothing hot drink that is packed with your optimum daily amount of the super food turmeric along with other healthy and natural ingredients….and it tastes delicious!
Turmerlicious is free from caffeine (apart from a small amount of caffeine in the chocolate versions), preservatives, artificial flavours, refined sugar, GMO products, nuts, eggs and gluten. They also have a DAIRY FREE range which makes it suitable for vegans, those following a Paleo diet and anyone with a lactose intolerance.
Maggie Howell, founder of Turmerlicious says:
I first developed this drink when I heard about the benefits of turmeric but was not super keen on the flavour so I started adding different flavours and we soon came up with a combination that the whole family loved.
When the family started drinking it regularly Maggie noticed subtle changes – no sniffles, coughs, colds, the whole family had more energy, the boys were calmer…. now it could have just been coincidence, who knows.
Turmerlicious is a delicate blend of coconut milk, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, a hint of black pepper, skimmed milk and coconut blossom nectar to add some sweetness.
There are 4 different flavours – vanilla, ginger, chocolate and chili chocolate and it tastes great, you don’t taste the turmeric. It’s a comforting hot drink which is a great healthy replacement for tea, coffee and hot chocolate, simply add 3 heaped teaspoons to a mug, pour in boiling water, stir well and enjoy!
