Equinox Organic Kombucha is craft brewed, bottled and delivered from the Calder Valley, West Yorkshire, UK. From humble beginnings in 2012, Equinox has grown rapidly to become the UK market leader, distributing to hundreds of health food stores, cafes and bars across Britain and now worldwide, forming partnerships from Holland & Barrett, Co-Op and Mitchells & Butler, and investment from Yeo Valley.

The founders discovered kombucha tea whilst backpacking around Asia and decided to craft their own experimenting with the life-giving elements of Kombucha. They started selling from the back of an old camper van at market stalls and trade shows, and from 2014 the awards starting coming in… Best Vegan Drink at Vegfest 2014, Great Taste 2 star Award in 2016, Great Taste 1 star Award in 2017 for Raspberry & Elderflower Kombucha, and a Great Taste 1 star Award in 2018 for Pink Grapefruit & Guava Kombucha.
Equinox Kombucha was handpicked by The Grocery Accelerator (a Dragon’s Den-style mentoring programme) in 2015 and the business was thriving, but then on Boxing Day in the same year when severe floods hit the north of England, they had to literally start again from scratch. Equinox’s positive philosophy and tenacious community was their saving grace, forging ahead to open their first brewery site and bottling plant which forms the foundation of their production today.
The mighty Equinox Kombucha is cultured to create a healthy fermented green tea that contains live cultures, organic acids and antioxidants. This wondrous organic raw Kombucha is also vegan and gluten free. That means you might find some bits of Kombucha tea culture in your drink. Don’t worry, floating blobs and strands of culture are a natural characteristic. Those are the good bits.
